Teacher Summer Gift

Wow has it really been 2 years since my last post?!? Time sure flies by.
I wanted to post this summer gift I made for my daughter's preschool teachers before it's too late.

It's a Thank you for a wonderful school year/Happy summer gift. Being pregnant (yep again) and very busy, I quickly put together this simple tag for the Tupperware Tropical Glamour tumblers I bought. The 16 oz. tumblers came as a set of 6, which was perfect because I have 6 teachers give these gifts to. I love the bright tropical designs that Tupperware made for their summer products. To add the "cuteness factor" I used Melonheadz sun clipart and font for the tag. I just grabbed a scissors and free-hand cut out the label and sun. Then used scrapbook paper to add detail to the bottom. Glue on the sun and scrapbook paper to the tag. Punch a hole at the top and string through baker's twine. Then the easy part, I bought a couple different flavors of Crystal Light To-Go packets and placed them inside the tumblers. That's it...you're done!

Here is the template for the tag if you want to make this project:

I realize how hard teachers work and like to make little gifts to show my appreciation. This gift idea would also be nice for neighbors, co-workers, friends, etc. I always find myself last-minute, scrambling on pinterest trying to find easy gift ideas. So if you are a procrastinator and looking for a fast and easy gift please pin this post and share with others!

Hope you all have a fun summer and I hope to be posting more projects soon :)

Teacher's Desk Organization

Lately I've been working on classroom organizing projects for my best friend. She had asked me to make a weekly drawer set and a copy, file, grade drawer set. We saw a few examples on Pinterest and she said this drawer system will be extremely helpful. So I when back to my Paintshop and created labels to match her toolbox. If you are wanting to make your own labels for these drawers, I used the dimensions 9.75"x2.5"

↓ My friend said she purchased these Sterilite 3-drawer organizers from Walmart. I used an ombre chevron pattern.

↓ Here's a closeup.

↓ Here are the copy, file, grade drawers. More chevron and some polka dots.
If any of you have more classroom organizing ideas PLEASE feel free to share them in the comments section!
Thank You!

Teachers Toolbox DIY

After many hours pinning this project on Pinterest, I finally decided to try it. There are so many blog posts of these teacher toolboxes! I made this for my best friend for her classroom. I tried to match her color theme as perfectly as I could.
↓ I picked up this organizer at Home Depot for $18. My friend and I both agreed that white would match her desk better than gray. I used 3 coats of a white enamel spray paint and then 2 coats of Rust-oleum Pearl Mist (also purchased at Home Depot).

↓ I created and made polka dot, chevron, and gingham patterns in Paintshop for the drawers. If you are interested in creating your own labels, the larger drawers are 2.12" x 4.25" and the smaller drawers are 1.38" x 2". After printing and cutting them out, I taped them to the inside of the drawer.

↓ Lastly, I made the text labels and printed them on clear labels.  I placed them on the outside of the drawer. My best friend and I thought it would be easier to change the text label on the outside than to change both the background paper and the text if she ever needed to.
↓ Here's a close up.
* Are you thinking what the "sparkle" drawer is for?...there's a reason. While planning what each drawer would hold, my friend couldn't come up with a use for one last drawer. We scrolled through Pinterest ideas and one teacher had a drawer for "bling". We both laughed then continued to look at other teacher toolbox ideas. Since we couldn't come up with a last label, my friend said, "Maybe we should just put "bling", just for fun!" But instead of "bling" we changed it to "sparkle". Ever since we were young we both have LOVED anything glittery, sparkly, or bling-y. She said she will put a bunch of glitter and rhinestones in the drawer and whenever she's having a bad day she will open that drawer and SMILE!...and that is why we are BFFs!

Back to School

I've been out of school for a while now but this year I am excited because it's my best friend's first year teaching!!! What is even more exciting is that she is a third grade teacher at the very same elementary school that we attended!
I gave her some school supplies and organizing
bins as a "classroom warming gift."  ↓

Of course I wanted to personalize them and make them cute so I made labels for them. I hope my gift comes in handy!
